I grew up in a strong Latin-American home with roots firmly planted in the New York City and Puerto Rico. As a second generation Latin American, I grew up understanding the importance of the family meal.
Because both parents worked outside of the home out of necessity, I began cooking at the age of 14. This is where my passion for being in the kitchen began and grew stronger. I watched as my mother, who was a native Puerto Rican, cooked not only the amazing dishes she grew up with, but also the dishes she learned from my Puerto Rican family.
While attending The Community Culinary School of Northwestern Connecticut, I learned not only how to prepare wonderful and delicious cuisine, but also, technique, which is the foundation in the preparation of any meal. I also learned to tap into my creative side, in order to get my creative juices flowing. I believe in and passionately promote cooking with sustainable, organic and local products. I will always use the freshest ingredients available to me.
So, now that you know a little about me, I would love to get to know about you and your family.
